Stenton Gallery - John Bellany CBE RA
First Freeman of East Lothian

An exhibition of paintings
25 February - 2 April 2005

Port Seton-born artist, John Bellany, will be awarded the Freedom of East Lothian, the first time this has been done, in February 2005, in recognition of his achievements and international standing as one of Britain's foremost living artists.
To celebrate this prestigious award, East Lothian Council and John Bellany have prepared an exclusive collection of the artist's work to be exhibited in a selection of venues in towns and villages throughout East Lothian to honour his life, work and continued interest in the community.
The aim of the exhibition programme is to provide public access to the artist's work throughout the county and, in so doing, to highlight Bellany's outstanding contribution to the art world, his remarkable life and constant inspiration, the human condition, the landscape and the sea.
