'My work for the show will include nocturnes, Edinburgh nightscapes, West Coast
boats and Cretan villages, in oil or watercolour, and possibly a still life
painting or two.
Most of my painting reflects my interest in specific light conditions,
nocturnes, sunsets or night-time illuminations. I try to allow the physical and
tactile qualities of paint to create a visual equivalent for the things I
respond to in the natural world. My work is very much influenced by the
Scottish tradition for painterly landscape painting.'
